It was dark and chilly in the rented venue on the second floor of a commercial building in Sao Paulo. But the warmth of the presence of the Lord filled the room. Ken had preached the Word and the worship brought the Spirit. The team began to minister. Ken and Brent prayed for the pastors and leaders and Martha began to pray for the women. The Lord touched and healed many with words of knowledge and encouragement.
Cleia waited around the edge of the group looking for a chance to speak to Martha. She summoned her best English and stated simply, “I want to learn everything from you.”
Martha was startled. What did she want to know? What could she teach her? She hugged Cleia and told her she would be glad to tell her what she wanted to know. “No,” she said. “I want to learn. Please come and teach us.”
As we ministered in other churches, women began to ask Bishop Josep for a women’s conference. Our team had discussions about what Cleia’s and the women’s felt needs were.
When the invitation to come to Brazil was given this year, the plan included a time for women. As we sought the Lord whether we should go to Brazil and if this was the time, Cleia’s face was brought to mind. We also recalled Paul’s call to Macedonia in Acts 16:9. “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
Acts:16:10 concludes, “And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
After praying we concluded also God was calling us to Sao Paula and immediately made plans to go.
