Hugh McNeal stood there straddling a small stream of water near the Montana-Idaho border August 12, 1805 and raised his voice in thanks to the Lord that he had lived to bestride the mighty Missouri River.
He and the rest of the Lewis and Clark expedition had already seen the strong Missouri powerfully flowing into the Mississippi months before. How dramatic the difference between the beginning and the end of that robust 2,300-mile river!
Who could have imagined such a force of nature had as its source such a small rivulet? Zechariah challenged those who would ridicule small beginnings:
“Who has despised the day of small things?”
Can you in faith imagine this?
