“When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.” Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:3-5 –NIV
God used the “captivity” of the people of Israel in Egypt to expand them from a clan to a nation. He used signs and wonders to judge the enemy’s demonic forces. The people “experienced” the first Passover deliverance which was a prophetic picture of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. The Lord used the journey to the Promised Land to prepare them to take back their inheritance. The first generation failed to enter into the land. Though they had seen all the Lord had done, they didn’t believe the Lord would deliver them from the giants that occupied their land.
The Joshua generation journeyed through a wilderness time of preparation to enter the Promised Land. God once again showed himself strong and they celebrated Passover in the land. The Lord appeared to Joshua before Jericho reminding him that He was the one who would deliver, not their own strength. They would have to wait until He gave the order to take the city.
Jesus is our Passover Lamb. After his resurrection, he spent forty days preparing the disciples and then told them to wait to receive power to help them complete their journey.
The Lord indicated this Passover was a special one. For thousands of years, people have gathered together to “celebrate” Passover, but this year we “experienced” it. We are currently in a preparation journey towards experiencing a special Pentecost.
We are grateful for you as you walk the journey with us. Be encouraged as you walk your journey in this season. The Lord is faithful to bring all of us through closer to Him, fully prepared, and fully provided for in the days ahead.
