The Spirit Poured Out in Uganda

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” Luke 4:18

The Lord is faithful–the poor heard the Good News

The Lord opened doors to preach in seven services, both in the cathedral and in small village churches.  Relationship is everything in the Ugandan culture and the fact that Gateway teams have been coming for 17 years added to receiving the Word of God from us.  Bishop Kahuma expressed much gratitude that we had come.

Martha was asked to help teach in the Sunday School.  She was shocked when 200+ school age children came to see her.  In true African fashion, they learned to let their light shine through song. You could hear them singing later in the afternoon.

The hunger for the Word of God was everywhere, especially in the villages. Often small churches were packed with many more outside gathered to hear.

People from one small village church welcomed us in traditional Ugandan fashion by meeting us at the road and singing praises as we entered the church property.

One of our great joys in the village churches was to hear worship from the heart using the traditional instruments of drum and harps and tribal languages.
